The 6.5 mile reward

Since the reward concept worked so well for getting me to finally run an official 5K, I decided to do the same for the scary long runs that would increase every 2 weeks on the Disneyland half marathon training program. The first distance that seemed daunting was 6.5 miles, so that's where I started! My reward would be a medal display. Why? Well, aside from it being lovely and a better way to display my ING Miami medals than hanging from a coat rack by the front door, it would motivate me to keep running. I have all this empty space to hang medals from, so I have to fill it! It'll help get me out the door for four runDisney half marathons and their respective training runs.

After searching high and low online, I decided on Allied Medal Displays' beautiful, clean designs. Specifically the Cityscape with a female runner at the end. They laser cut to order, have several different sizes of each design, and you can even customize a display! I finally got around to putting it up and hanging the medals. It looks so nice, and is a great reminder of what can be achieved with hard work and dedication...6.5 miles down!!!

ING Miami Half Marathon medals finally have a home!
